16 recreational places to be fined for hosting parties after 10pm

Sixteen recreational places continued work after 10pm on January 29-30, contrary to the decision taken by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission. Six of these places are based in Chisinau. In one of these places, the administration held over 100 clients inside during three hours, IPN reports.

Iurie Podarilov, head of the General Police Inspectorate, told a news conference that persons from the administration of the 16 places will be fined. He didn’t confirm and didn’t refute the press reports that the over 100 persons who amused themselves in the club were judges, prosecutors and officers of the National Anticorruption Center. The name and address of the nightclub weren’t made known so as not to hamper the investigation. The club earlier also violated the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission’s anti-COVID-19 decisions.

For such violations, private individuals face a fine of 15,000 to 25,000 lei, while legal entities of 50,000 to 75,000 lei. If cases of COVID-19 are detected after the parties, the persons holding responsible posts there can be held legally accountable.

As to the amusement park “Orhei Land”, Iurie Podarilov said the park was closed by the same decision of the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission so as to prevent cases of COVID-19 among children, even if the Orhei local public health commission allowed the park to continue work. An amusement park in Bălți also worked illegally for an hour, but was then closed. Proceedings were instituted in both of the cases.

At the end of January, the cases of COVID-19 ranged between 2,449 and 5,615 daily, according to the Ministry of Health.
