The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology announces a contest to provide 16 licenses for using radio frequencies available in the frequency bands 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2600 MHz and 3400 – 3800 MHz for providing public mobile terrestrial electronic communications services and networks, IPN reports.
According to the announcement, the contest is open to legal entities, civil societies/associations of legal entities from Moldova and abroad, which can submit joint offers and applications. Those interested can file applications and the contest participation guarantee to the Agency’s address – Chisinau, 134 Stefan cel Mare Blvd, MD – 2012 - until November 13.

The licenses will be valid for a period 15 years of the issuing date, except for cases when the license is issued to a provider that already possesses a license in the same frequency band. In these cases, the period of validity of the issued license will be synchronized with the period of validity of the possessed license.
The starting prices for the frequency blocks put up for the contest are set by a Government decision, while the costs oscillate between €1 and €10 million, depending on the frequency.
