The Urban Bus Company this week will put into operation 16 high-capacity Solaris Urbino articulated buses that were purchased recently. Each bus has 143 seats. While not brand new, the buses are said to be in good condition and have been bought by the municipality to fill up struggling routes.
The Urban Mobility Directorate has been instructed to additionally examine locations where there is increased demand for public transport, so that by September 1 the municipal Transport Directorate can supplement the number of units.
In the immediate future, ten articulated trolleybuses, also recently bought on the second-hand market, will join the municipal fleet as well.
In recent years, the municipal public transport fleet has been supplemented with 174 buses and 75 trolleybuses.
