15 road sections to be repaired with government finances this year

The Road Fund this year will total 787.9 million lei, an increase of 35% compared with 2010. It will be used to maintain and repair roads, purchase special vehicles and equipment and to ensure road security. The program on the distribution of the Road Fund for 2011 was approved by the Government in its last meeting, Info-Prim Neo reports. Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure Boris Gherasim said 184 million lei will go to repair the roads and build engineering systems, by 50 million lei more than last year. The 15 road sections were selected with the participation of the local public authorities. They include Chisinau – Leuseni, at the border with Romania; Chisinau – Ungheni – Sculeni, at the border with Romania; Floresti – Nicolaevca – Sangerei; Tiraspol – Causeni – Cimislia; Ungheni – Macaresti – Barboeni; Prepelita – Pepeni – Balanesti; Donduseni – Sudarca, and others. The Government also approved the list of public plots of 10,700 hectares occupied by 70 national roads. The delimitation of the public land will allow adjusting the documents concerning land and will prevent the overlapping of private plots or leased out plots with public plots.
