15 fires during two days, man killed

The firefighters during the first two days of the year put out 15 fires, while SMURD intervened in 33 cases to provide qualified assistance. On January 1, a man was found dead by neighbors in his home. The first examinations show this was poisoned by carbon monoxide emitted by the faulty stove, IPN reports.

According to the Civic Protection and Emergencies Service, the case happened in Dubasarii Vechi village of Criuleni district.

Between December 31 and January 2, employees of the Service dealt with 80 emergencies. The firemen and rescuers intervened to extinguish fires, unblock doors and provide qualified SMURD assurance.

The rescuers recommend respecting the anti-fire rules and the rules of using stoves, putting out the fire before going to sleep and airing the rooms where there are heating sources so as to avoid carbon monoxide positioning.

In case of emergencies, one should call 901.
