The number of cases of infection with COVID-19 rose to 94 in Moldova after the virus was detected in 14 more samples. The results were announced by Constantin Rîmiș, secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, after the meeting of the Single Command Center for managing the crisis caused by Covid-19, IPN reports.
A number of 124 samples were examined on March 22 and 14 tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Four are cases of import, while 10 are cases of local transmission. Of the 94 confirmed cases, 38 are of import, while 54 are of local transmission.
Constantin Rîmiș said that 2,295 persons called the 112 service today and 90 of them were taken to the hospital. Of these, 72 were adults and 18 were children. As many as 65 patients were admitted to the “Toma Ciorbă” Hospital. Six are in a serious state, 55 are in a medium grave state, while four are in a satisfactory state. Eight children with COVID-19, who are in a medium grave state, are being rerated at the Children’s Infectious Diseases Hospital. The two patients treated at the National Clinical Hospital are in a serious state and a medium grave state, respectively.
President Igor Dodon said the authorities are ready to introduce harsher measures for those who do not obey the rules. Solutions are being looked for so that the elderly people do not have to form lines at post offices to receive the pension and pay for public utilities. Moldova has sufficient tests and the doctors are always ready to provide assistance to the population.
Constantin Rîmiș reiterated the call to the people to stay at home, to avoid contact with other persons and to respect the personal hygiene rules.
