The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) will monitor 13 TV channels to see how the covered the protests mounted by the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” in the period between September 6 and 27. The decision was taken by the Council in its September 29 meeting, IPN reports.
The monitoring will cover the public channel Moldova 1, all the channels with national coverage, such as Prime, Publika TV, Canal 2 and Canal 3, and the channels that are retransmitted by all the cable TV service providers, such as TV 7 and Pro TV.
The Council’s chairman Dinu Ciocan said such a decision was taken following a protest staged by the Platform in front of the head office of the BCC, within which the protesters asked monitoring how the TV channels cover the protests.
