Thirteen persons, of whom three minors, drowned this summer in the ponds located in the resort zones of the municipality of Chisinau. 3 cases were registered in the resort zones of Buiucani district, 3 – in Botanica district and 7 cases – on the beach of Vadul lui Voda. According to Chisinau deputy commissioner of police Iacob Gumenita, the Service of rescuers working in the resort zone Vadul lui Voda is unprofessionally carrying out its duties. He proposed to reorganise the Service. At the beginning of July, the mayor of Vadul lui Voda, Iurie Onofriiciuc has sent an information note in this regard. He said there are not enough rescuers because of the small salary – MDL 450. At present, the rescue squad includes only five persons and this is not enough to ensure the security of persons resting in Vadul lui Voda.
