About 120 million lei has been transferred to the accounts of agricultural producers in the first half of this year based on 1,017 applications for subsidies, IPN reports.
According to the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA), the agricultural producers asked for subsidies for purchasing conventional agricultural equipment, respectively for building packing houses and cold storage facilities for fruit and vegetables. Most of the applications were submitted by farmers from the Cahul and Edinet districts.
The AIPA said it will offer the necessary support to agricultural producers interested in contributing to the development of the agricultural sector by creating high-quality products and will assist the young farmers and female farmers who want to start agribusiness.
In this regard, the Agency on July 1 started to accept applications for providing subsides in advance to young farmers and female farmers. The state will contribute 65% of the total value of the proposed project, while the applicant will contribute the other 35%. There will be accepted only projects whose value does not exceed 1 million lei.
The National Agriculture and Rural Development Fund for 2018 consists of 900 million lei. Of this sum, 45 million lei can be provided as subsidies in advance.
