As many as 120 persons who had received treatment for COVID-19 at home, having mild forms of the disease, finished the cure. Another 60 persons who were treated at the hospital were discharged on May 19, IPN reports, with reference to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.

In the Transnistrian region, 265 persons got cured. This way, the number of those who recovered rose to 2,953.

Also, COVID-19 claimed three more lives on May 20. The victims are two men and a woman aged between 62 and 82. The death toll from the virus now stands at 224.

The Ministry said all the persons who died suffered also from other diseases. They were residents of Chisinau, Ceadîr-Lunga district and the Transnistrian region.

The state of health of 244 persons who contracted COVID-19 is serious and 22 of them were put on a ventilator.

Since the start of the pandemic, Moldova has got 6,340 infections with COVID-19. Of those infected, 1,385 are healthcare workers.
