The modernization of road infrastructure and the expansion of educational institution buildings were among the projects implemented in the suburbs of the capital last year, with financial support from the Chisinau City Hall. In total, the number of projects reached 120, IPN reports.

Throughout the past year, projects focused on energy efficiency, the renovation and equipping of healthcare centers, the construction of water supply and sewage networks, waste management optimization, as well as the expansion and development of sports and recreational infrastructure were carried out.

For the development of the suburbs, a budget of 170 million lei has been allocated for 2025.

The funding needs were identified by Mayor Ion Ceban and the mayors of the 18 suburbs, in collaboration with local residents, during meetings and working visits.

Additionally, efforts to improve public transportation services for suburban residents are ongoing. In this regard, the municipality decided last year to increase the number of trips and extend routes on several bus lines, according to Chișinău City Hall.
