12 persons with COVID-19 in a serious state

The state of health of two persons with COVID-19 admitted to the National Clinical Hospital has worsened, IPN reports. Another ten patients treated at the Infectious Diseases Hospital “Toma Ciorbă” is serious, but stable, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu announced on March 24.

After the meeting of the National Focal Point, the minister said that 907 persons suspected of being infected with the novel coronavirus have been tested so far. Of the 109 confirmed cases of infection, 40 were recorded in the municipality of Chisinau, while 17 in Hâncești. The first two cases of infection in Râșcani district and one case in Șoldănești district were reported on March 23. Six cases of infection have been confirmed in the Transnistrian region to date.

Twenty-seven of the persons diagnosed with COVID-19 are aged between 50 and 59, whereas 23 persons are aged 30 to 39. The state of the eight infected children remains medium grave.

Of the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19, 43 are of import as the persons returned infected from Italy, France Switzerland, the UK, Romania, Russia, and Ukraine.

A state of emergency was declared in Moldova in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic until May 15. Two persons with the novel coronavirus have been cured by now. One infected woman died.
