Two men, 35 and 41, were arrested following a drug bust in Cahul. The police seized 6 kilos of marijuana valued at over 1.2 million lei on the black market.

It is believed the suspects were buying the cannabis seeds abroad, and after growing the plants, they would sell the high-quality cannabis buds to dealers in Chisinau and Romania, as the rest went to the local black market in Cahul.

A raid at the 41-year-old man’s home resulted in a seizure of drug-related paraphernalia, plus an illegally possessed hunting weapon with live rounds.

By order of the Chisinau/Ciocana Court, the two suspects were placed in preventive arrest for 30 days.
