Some 115 million lei will be allocated from the government's intervention fund to repair roads and support localities affected by heavy rains between June and September 2024, IPN reports.
The Commission for Exceptional Situations has approved 114 million 758 thousand lei for 54 localities flooded and destroyed by storms. The money will be distributed in the districts of Rezina, Hincesti, Floresti, Telenesti, Ialoveni, Straseni, Cantemir and Leova.
Repair work is to be carried out on 160 km of damaged public roads, 20 damaged culverts and 20 damaged culverts and drains. The roofs of some schools need to be restored.
Financial support will benefit 21 households in the commune of Cania and the village of Stoianovca, Cantemir district, affected by the heavy rains of September 14.
Earlier, the local public administrations had allocated more than 3.5 million lei from their reserve funds to partially deal with the consequences of the disaster.
