11 persons killed in road accidents during three days
Eleven persons died in the traffic accidents that happened in Moldova last Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Traffic Police Division spokeswoman Dana Andronic has told Info-Prim Neo.
A 15-year-old boy from Taraclia died Friday when the car in which he was traveling crashed into a tree. I man aged 39 from Soroca was killed when the tractor he was driving overturned. The same day, three unidentified pedestrians were struck fatally in Chisinau, Ialoveni and Iargara (Leova).
The seven road accidents that occurred on Saturday resulted in five deaths and four persons injured. An 18-year-old girl died when the motorcycle on which she was traveling crashed into a truck parked by the roadside in Dobrogea village. The motorcyclist of the same age died in the hospital half an hour later.
A speeding Mercedes-200 ran into a curb in Floresti. A passenger aged 33 died at the scene. Another Mercedes-200 overturned on a road in Ocnita. The 37-year-old driver died as a result of his injuries.
A speeding Opel overturned on a road in Telenesti district on Sunday. The driver aged 53 died on the spot.
During three days, the traffic police had identified 45 drunken drivers, 79 motorists traveling unbuckled and 166 speeding drivers.
