11 Moldovan MPs banned entry into Russia. Moldova’s Foreign Affairs Ministry comments

Eleven MPs of the Republic of Moldova were banned entry into the Russian Federation. Moldova’s Ambassador in Moscow Lilian Darii was summoned to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be informed about this.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation noted that Ambassador Darii was summoned to be informed about the firm protest against “the continuation of politically motivated persecution against Russian language media outlets in Moldova, including by blocking websites”.

“Ambassador Darii was informed that, as an asymmetric measure, a number of officials of the Republic of Moldova were banned access to the Russian Federation,” said the institution.

Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova Filip Cojocaru said that 11 Moldovan MPs were banned entry into Russia.

“Regardless of Moscow’s decisions or ripostes, we are committed to further protecting our information space from any foreign interference and to keeping a firm position against disinformation, hybrid attacks and attempts to destabilize our country,” stated Filip Cojocaru.
