Eleven political parties, including an electoral bloc, fielded candidates for the post of mayor of Balti municipality. Eight of the candidates have been registered as contenders. The Balti District Electoral Council will make public its decision concerning the other four candidates until May 21. The deadline for submitting applications was May 14, IPN reports.
If the last four applicants are registered as election runners, the ballot with candidates for the post of mayor of Balti municipality will contain the following names:

3. Nicolae Chiriliuc (PPRM)
4. Boris Marcoci (PLDM)
5.Vladimir Dorojco (PSM)
6.Lilea Guţul (PSRM)
7. Vadim Vacarciuc (PPEM - Iurie Leancă)
8. Renato Usatîi (Partidul Nostru)
9.Vasile Dobrogeanu (PL)
10. Mihail Smolenco (Casa noastră-Moldova)
11. Ruslan Belousov (Renaştere).
The candidates of 12 political parties and two independent candidates will run for the post of Balti councilor. The following were already registered as contenders: the PCRM, PDM, PSRM, independent candidate Aureliu Filipp, PPRM, PLDM, independent candidate Ivan Ungureanu, PSM, PPEM - Iurie Leanca, and Partidul Nostru. The Balti District Electoral Council is yet to take a decision about the registration of the parties “Casa noastra-Moldova”, “Renastere”, PL and PNL.
