10,600 persons to be immunized with 21,600 COVID-19 vaccines donated to Moldova

The 21,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines against COVID-19 that were donated by Romania will be used to immunize 10,800 persons as the batch contains the first and second doses of vaccine.

Contacted by IPN for details, Ninel Revenco, coordinator of the national immunization program and of the communication group on vaccination against COVID-19, said the doses were distributed so that the persons who are covered by the first vaccination stage receive also the second dose, at an interval of eight weeks.

Ninel Revenco noted that the two doses of vaccine have the same composition.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign in Moldova, which was kicked off on March 2, started with the health workers and will continue with employees of ministries, the presidential administration and other institutions and also journalists. The vaccination is free and voluntary.
