Some 10,500 ha of farm plantations have been stricken by floods. Agriculture Minister, Anatolie Gorodenco, told a sitting on Wednesday that fields of sunflower, wheat, corn and sugar beet were the most affected, Info-Prim Neo reports. 246 ha of sunflower, 167 ha of wheat and 162 ha of corn plantations have been destroyed. Also, 102 ha of sugar beet, 100 ha of potato and soya, 46 ha of vegetables have been compromised. Farmers living in the districts of Briceni, Rezina, Ocnita, Edinet, Stefan Voda and Criuleni have suffered most of the damage. The financial losses are being calculated.
