100% votes counted: PCRM – 42 seats of MP, PLDM – 32, PDM – 15, PL – 12
The Central Election Commission (CEC) has counted 100% of the votes. According to the preliminary results, in the November 28 early legislative elections, the PCRM won 39.29% of the poll and will hold 42 seats of MP. The PLDM polled 29.38% of the vote and will have 32 seats of MP. The PDM will hold 15 seats after gaining 12.72% of the vote, while the PL - 12 seats with 9.96% of the vote, Info-Prim Neo reports.
No other parties of the 20 running in elections entered Parliament. The Moldova Noastra Alliance won 2.05% of the poll, while the European Action Movement – 1.23%. The other election runners polled under 1%. Among the 19 independents the election threshold for whom is 2%, millionnaire Gabriel Stati gained the largest number of votes – 0.48% of the ballot.
The turnout of voters was 59.1%. About 65,000 persons have voted abroad. The voters in Italy were the most active. 28,285 Moldovans have cast their ballots there. 9,724 Moldovans voted in Romania, 4,330 – in Russia, 3,642 in Portugal, 2,778 – in the U.S., 2,528 – in Spain, 2,499 – in Greece, 2,247 – in France, 1,737 - in Canada.
The preliminary results show the Moldovans abroad voted as follows: 31,975 for the PLDM, 16,299 for the PL, 5,693 for the PDM, 4,351 for the PCRM.
Five parties entered Parliament after the July 29, 2009 elections: the PCRM – 48 seats, the PLDM – 18, the PL – 15, the PDM – 13, the AMN – 7.
