The municipality plans to repair 100 public transport stations in Chisinau in the course of 2017. The authorities will also hold negotiations with the company that manages the stations so that this repairs another 100 stations, IPN reports.

In the ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, Petru Gontea, head of the Public Amenities Division, said there are 315 stations in Chisinau. Of these, only 15 are managed by the municipality, while the rest are managed by an economic entity. Last year this company repaired up to 100 stations, with some of these being renovated two-three times because they were devastated.

About 2 million lei will be allocated for repairing the 100 stations. Approximately 5 million lei is needed for restoring all the stations, stated Petru Gontea.

The works could start in the second half of February.
