100+ holy relics set for worship in Chisinau

The relics of 113 saints are hosted till October 18 by St. Teodora from Sihla Church. The holy remnants were brought from Athens and other regions from Greece. The move is intended “to bring a new healthy trend to maintain sober the minds and souls of all the Moldovan believers,” pastor Ioan Ciuntu has told Info-Prim Neo. The relics of Nectarius, Charalampius from Jerusalem, Anastase the Persian, Ciprian, Athanasius Christianopolis, Marina, John Chrysostom, Constantine from Idra, John the Prodrom and other saints are accompanied by a deputation of the Greek clergy. For centuries, the relics have been kept in churches where they paid homage by believers. The priest says the remnants of the saints who lived a special life with big love for God can make wonders for the ones who truthfully believe. “It’s a magic power. They have much influence on our souls, health and morale and we thank God for giving us this opportunity,” a Christian woman said. St. Teodora from Sihla Church is always open for the believers from both Metropolitan Churches. On October 18, at 18.00, a special ceremony will start also serviced by the Greek prelates.
