The Broadcasting Coordination Council provided a broadcast license to the channel 10 TV that is to be launched by the founder of the newspaper “Timpul de dimineata” (“Morning time”). According to the conception, the new TV channel will impartially cover the events, will neutrally inform and will not discriminate, IPN reports.
In the Council’s meeting, the paper’s founder Silviu Tanase said that about 25% of the broadcast schedule of the new TV channel will represent retransmitted programs of the Romanian channel Nasul. The new channel will have a studio in Chisinau and another one in Bucharest. There will be produced debate and feature programs. “It will not be affiliated to a political party or an organization. It will promote and keep the cultural, ethnic and linguistic heritage,” stated Silviu Tanase.
The broadcast schedule includes the retransmission of the talk-show “Nasul”, which is one of the oldest programs of the kind in Romania. There will also be broadcast the programs “Seven days in Europe”, “Guard hour” and “Night chronicle”. The documentary programs will be purchased also from Nasul TV. “Initially, we will broadcast a short newscast, of 15 minutes. The 56% of own production will be ensured by talk shows. In time, if we attract more advertisements, we could producer longer news bulletins,” said Silviu Tanase.
Council member Mariana Onceanu-Hadarca said she cannot hide her satisfaction of examining such a request when there is an abundance of retransmitted Russian TV channels. She noted she supports the idea of creating a common audiovisual space with Romania. According to her, there are many technical problems that make such private initiatives to be few in number.
The broadcast license was offered for a period of six years. The channel 10 TV is to be launched by this yearend.
