1% of graduates got only grades of 10 on Baccalaureate exams

Only 1% of the students who took Baccalaureate exams this year got only grades of 10, the head of the Assessment and Examination Agency Valentina Manole said in a meeting at the Ministry of Education, Info-Prim Neo reports. Compared with 2009, the number of such students is by 5,000 lower. The average grade on the Baccalaureate exams practically remained the same. This year, it was 7.03, while in 2010 – 7.04. The average grade at the schools for speakers of other languages was 7.15. According to Valentina Manole, 10% of the graduates got only grades of 9, while one fourth – only grades of 8. The highest average grade, of 7.57, was recorded in Ocnita, Balti, Briceni, and Chisinau, while the lowest one, of 6.5 – in Calarasi, Hancesti, Nisporeni, and Orhei. Valentina Manole said the students in some schools could copy and a number of teachers were personalized. However, the Ministry of Education considers the Baccalaureate exams were organized appropriately and the identified shortcomings will be removed. “No complaints about the organization of the Baccalaureate exams have been submitted,” Minister of Education Leonid Bujor said, adding the practice of sending the test papers through banks was effective.
