Yellow warning for hot weather extended

Weather forecasters extended the yellow warning for dog days until July 6 and the exceptional natural fire risk (class V) until July 8, IPN reports.

The State Weather Service said the daytime temperatures the next few days will vary between 33°C and 36°C. Downpours are expected on Friday night. The weak wind will blow from northeast.

The orange warning for hydrological drought was extended until July 11. Given the lack of precipitation and the high temperatures, the water flow in the Prut decreased by 20-23% of the average multiannual values, while in the small rivers of the Republic of Moldova, the water flow declined by 10-25% of the average multiannual values, except for the left branches of the Nistru.

The population and business entities are urged to reasonably consume the water resources and to also avoid stays outside between 10am and 6pm, to drink more liquids and to wear light and loose clothes.
