PDM calls on Socialists to withdraw bills that pose a danger to country

The Democratic Party considers the Party of Socialists’ bills to transfer the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) from the President’s subordination under the Parliament’s management and concerning the functioning of languages are profoundly abusive and dangerous and are “smoke-producing” laws aimed at distracting attention from veiled games. In a news conference, the party’s president Pavel Filip said the PDM will support the President-elect’s efforts to counteract the destabilization in the country and the stratagems planned by particular political players, IPN reports.

According to Pavel Filip, the Socialists’ initiative to remove the SIS from the President’s control is at least childish. “The law is law for everyone and cannot be tailored depending on the political conjuncture and personal interests. We saw the position and call of the President-elect. The PDM makes common cause with the people who do not accept abuses and want a different kind of politics – correct and transparent,” he stated.

The Democrats call on the Socialist parliamentary group to withdraw this bill from the parliamentary procedure and also the bill concerning the status of the Russian language and the bill to amend the Code of Audiovisual Media Services.

Pavel Filip noted that both the Socialists and their partners from the Shor Party prepare a harsh attack on the country’s sovereignty and aim to cover schemes hidden in the budgetary-fiscal policy. These documents were drafted in a hurry without consulting society. The PDM considers the draft budgetary-fiscal policy and the draft state budget contain doubtful elements. The Democratic MPs will not vote for these bills.

In another news conference, Pro Moldova MP Andrian Candu said he will demand in Parliament to withdraw the Socialists’ bills concerning the Russian language and the Code of Audiovisual Media Services. The subjects that are to be discussed in Parliament today divide society, make the people oppose each other and raise geopolitical subjects. In parallel, the proposed fiscal policy contains measures that can lead to a rise in food prices.
