Specialists of SA “Apă-Canal Chisinau” (ACC) identified an unauthorized connection of a four-story building with 12 apartments from Durlești town to the public water supply and sewerage system. The business entity that manages the block didn’t sign a contract with the water supplier, IPN reports.
ACC said the public water supply and sewerage service forms part of the sphere of community public utilities and covers all the regulated activities by which the utility and general public interest needs of consumers are satisfied.
In accordance with its legal duties, the company permanently carries out unplanned inspections so as to monitor the public water supply and sewerage services in the municipality of Chisinau.
As a result of the inspection conducted in Durlești town, the expert commission of ACC estimated the volume of water used illegally at over 100,000 lei.
The operator’s employees disconnected the building by visible rupture. To benefit again from the public water supply and sewerage service, the business entity will have to cover the disconnection/reconnection costs.
The supplier noted the theft of water poses a danger to the whole process of supplying water to consumers.
