Zimbru outstripped Milsami in the rankings after beating it in Orhei 2-0. It thus climbed to the sixth spot, being 8 points behind Dacia and Veris, which compete for the third place, IPN reports.
The goals were scored by the Brazilian players Ademar and Quintela. Ademar Xavier scored in the goal of his former team, which he left a year ago amid scandals.
“For us, all the matches are now very important. It was hard because the opponents turned out to be better prepared. We were luckier,” Zimbru coach Oleg Kubarev said in a news conference after the match.
“The goal in the second minute played a trick on us. We attacked, but Zimbru’s defense was well-organized,” stated Milsami coach Gheorghi Yartsev.
The other games of the 24th stage also ended with victories scored by the guests. Dacia trounced Olimpia 3-0, Veris won against Academia 2-1, Sheriff beta Dinamo-Auto 4-1, while Costuleni defeated Speranta 1-0. In the rankings, the leading Sheriff is 8 points ahead of FC Tiraspol.
