Ukraine negotiates to resume power supply to Moldova
Ukraine started negotiations to resume power supplies to Moldova, said Iurie Prodan, the Ukrainian Minister of Fuel and Energy, quoted by the Ukrainian publication Delo.
“The power deliveries may start next month. Such proposals came from Moldovan authorities,” the minister said.
According to Prodan, Ukraine may deliver 500-700 MW/h. This figure is close to the agreements between Ukraine and Moldova on the capacities of trans-border electric lines.
The publication reminds that Moldova rejected the Ukrainian electricity earlier in 2009. Then the Moldovan company “Energocom” signed a contract with the Russian company Inter RAO EES on taking power from the Cuciurgan plant. The agreement is valid till March 31, 2010.
