Three new Kempo clubs to be opened in Moldova

The president of the National Kempo Federation Roman Babii has announced that three new Kempo and Jiu-Jitsu clubs will be opened in Moldova, in addition to the four existing ones, but more details about this will be provided later.

In a news conference at IPN, Roman Babii said they now work to fully outfit the club in Ungheni town. The necessary equipment was already bought, but hasn’t been yet delivered. There are many persons in Ungheni who want to train in Kempo and Jiu-Jitsu, but it’s hard to find good trainers for such types of wrestling.

According to Roman Babii, the national team of Moldova has won 41 medals in the World Kempo Championship that was held recently in Budapest. The next important competitions will take place at this yearend, including the national championship and a championship that will be organized by the Jiu-Jitsu International Federation in Paris.

Owing to the massive participation in different contests, Moldova managed to increase its participation quota in the Paris championship from one athlete to five athletes.

Roman Babii added that wrestling is developed in Moldova, but they would like the authorities and sponsors to become involved to a greater extent so as to ensure the athletes’ participation in top competitions.
