The first gold medal won by Moldova at the European Judo Cup is one of the results of the support provided by the head of the Foundation for Moldova’s Development “Edelweiss” Vlad Plahotniuc, who is the president of honor of the Moldovan Judo Federation, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Foundation. On August 17, Vlad Plahotniuc congratulated Veaceslav Manolachi, the head of the Moldovan Judo Federation, Vasile Colta, the coach of the national judo team, and the judo squad for the results achieved at the European Judo Cup held in Hamburg on August 7-8. The founder of “Edelweiss” offered prizes to the Moldovan judo players and wished Stanislav Cernega, who won gold in the 100 kg class, good luck. Veaceslav Manolachi said the gold medal is only one of the results achieved as a result of the six-year cooperation between the Judo Federation and “Edelweiss” Foundation. The next serious exam will be taken at the World Judo Championship in Japan this autumn.
