State contracts NGO to provide social services
The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family has signed a contract for the provision of social services with a non-state social service provider, namely a public association. Thus, the International Center for Women’s Rights Protection and Promotion “La Strada” during two years and a half will offer free telephonic assistance services to children, parents or caregivers, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the Ministry, the specialists of “La Strada” will provide consultancy and psychological counseling over the phone to children in situations of risk, parents and caregivers who experience difficulties and need assistance.
The assistance services will be provided on the single telephone number 116111, which was harmonized with the similar service of the European Union. The new telephonic assistance service for children will be launched in June.
Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said that Moldova is taking all the legislative, administrative and social measures required to protect the children from any form of violence and the state needs to cooperate with civil society in order to achieve results in implementing these mechanisms for preventing and combating violence.
