Zimbru and Sheriff drew 1-1 the last match of the tenth stage of the National Division, IPN reports.

The team from Tiraspol came after the sensational start at the UEFA Champions League and left a number of players to rest. Zimbru made an appropriate reply, but the score was opened by Sheriff through Macedonian player Nikolov. After the break, Zimbru profited from a mistake made by Bruno and tied through Ștefan Burghiu.

“Even if we have a tight schedule, I consider we deserved a victory today,” said the coach of Sheriff Yuri Vernydub.

Sheriff missed the chance of climbing on to the winner’s rostrum, but it played by three matches fewer than Milsami and Petrocub and by four matches fewer than FC Bălți.

The 11th stage takes place on September 21 and 22. Sfîntul Gheorghe meets Petrocub, FC Bălți - Dinamo-Auto, Milsami – Zimbru, while Sheriff - FC Florești.
