Canoeist Sergey Tarnovschi didn’t manage to climb on to the winner’s rostrum at the World Championship in Denmark. He ranked sixth in 1 000 m simple, being outstripped by five representatives of Europe, IPN reports.
The competition was won by Germany’s Conrad Scheibner (3:50.73). The second and third spots were occupied by Martin Fuksa of the Czech Republic (3:51.39) and Hungary’s Balazs Adolf (3:51.69) respectively.
At the Tokyo Olympic Games, Sergey Tarnovschi triumphed as the top canoeist in Europa, medaling bronze.
In the women’s competition, the pair Daniela Cociu - Maria Olărașu finished ninth in 500 m with the result of 2:03.02. Liudmyla Luzan and Anastasiia Chetverikova from Ukraine became world champion with 1:55.85.
