Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu asked to summon the Ambassador of Russia to the Ministry for being informed about the protest over the shelling of targets of Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, which led to power outages, IPN reports.
“Russia’s brutal bombardments in Ukraine continue to have dramatic consequences for our country. Today, when we have blackouts all over the country, including in the capital city Chisinau, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nicu Popescu asked to urgently summon Russia’s Ambassador in the Republic of Moldova for being informed about our country’s protest over the shelling of targets of Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, which led to power outages,” says a comment by the Ministry’s spokesman Daniel Vodă.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration transmitted urgent instructions to the heads of Moldova’s diplomatic missions for informing the country’s partners about the major impact of this situation. It noted that Moldova remains on the part of the free world and this war should be stopped as swiftly as possible, says the comment.
