Projects of Chisinau’s two development plans to be examined at Municipal Council’s next sitting
The project of the General Urban Plan (GUP) and the project of the Plan for refitting Chisinau’s territory will be examined at the next sitting of the Chisinau Municipal Council. The interim Mayor Veaceslav Iordan requested to put forward the two documents for debates at the CMC’s sitting scheduled for Monday, March 19.
The two draft documents have been worked out by experts at the end of last year. Municipal authorities have conducted public hearings in all the districts of Chisinau from January 10 to February 9, aiming at different aspects: economic development, social services, urbanism, and transport. The authors say they are open to receiving concrete proposals to improve the drafts.
Head of Land Division Nicolae Craciun said that at present the projects are being considered by the relevant ministries, the Agency for Constructions and Territory Development, as well as by CMC commissions.
The two projects, after their adoption by CMC, will lie on the basis of the municipal authorities’ activity and will facilitate the carrying out of different foreign assisted projects.
GUP envisages 120 investment projects. The City Hall announced that several contests have been already announced for working out the concepts of zone urban plans for developing the territory of Chisinau municipality. The contests are being organized until March 27, 2007. The zone plans provide for the construction of modern dwelling blocks. The plots of land will be allotted only after approving GUP.
The projects were worked out by the consortium of “Urbanproiect” Institute, Business Consulting Institute and IHS Romania accordantly to the international practice in urban management and development planning.
