“Today is a decisive day for our state, the Republic of Moldova. I hope the citizens will take a correct decision independently, uninfluenced by someone, with which they would be satisfied,” Parliament Speaker Zinaidei Greceanîi stated when going out of the polling station, IPN reports.

The official, who was accompanied by her husband, said that she voted for a team of statehood supporters, professionals who knew to manage and overcome crises, including political, economic, financial and social. She voiced hope that such a team will be present again in Parliament and will rule independently and will defend the country’s interests.

Zinaida Grechanyi called on the citizens to vote independently and to decide their fate.

Over 3 million voters are expected to take part in the snap parliamentary elections in Moldova today, July 11. The State Register of Voters includes 3 282 837 citizens eligible to vote. For the elections to be validated, the turnout should be at least 1/3 of the voters. Polling stations are open between 7am and 9pm.
