Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanîi, the leader of the Socialist Party, said that the three budgets must be approved by the end of December. The deadlines were violated because the bills had to be introduced to Parliament by October 15. Moreover, Zinaida Greceanîi said  that a large part of the 2020 budget will be dedicated to infrastructure investments.

The Speaker of Parliament said that funds designated for investments account for more than one billion lei. "We will create jobs in the field of infrastructure. In addition to investments, this budget bill also targets the social field. The indexation of pensions twice per year is planned, while allowances for the winter holidays will be issued to more than 600 thousand pensioners", said the socialist.

"As far as I understand, the government has only introduced external financial sources in the budget bill, sources which are already guaranteed. Yesterday I had a meeting with International Monetary Fund representatives who informed me that the IMF will accept a budget deficit increase if resources to finance this deficit are available", said Zinaida Greceanîi during the NTV Moldova program "Glavnîi vopros".

Additionally, the Speaker said that following the agreement between Prime Minister Ion Chicu and his counterpart Dmitri Medvedev regarding the opening of the $500 million credit line, this amount can be included in the budget. "Many of these bills have been proposed by us in Parliament before. (...) All these initiatives are for the people. These aren’t just election promises. We will support government initiatives that are in the interests of the people", said the MP.

Zinaida Greceanîi said that the risk of the government falling is persistent, however, the people do not want snap elections. "If the executive generates results, the risk of dismissal will diminish. If the government will be inactive and will engage in geopolitics ... The government must accomplish concrete things and if it does, no one will want to dismiss it, regardless of political statements", concluded the PSRM chairwoman.

Zinaida Greceanîi believes that the government led by Ion Chicu has a huge investment potential. In her opinion, investments must be attracted from both the West and the East. "After a work visit to Moscow, Ion Chicu went to London, where he held a meeting with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and had meetings with the Eastern Partnership countries. He will be everywhere and will make deals with everyone", the Parliament Speaker said.
