Zalina Marghieva ranks fifth at Rio Olympics

Athlete Zalina Marghieva ranked fifth in the hammer throw qualification competition at the Olympic Games. The final of this event was set for August 15, IPN reports.

Zalina scored the result of 71.72 meters and was outran by Poland’s Anita Wlodarczyk (76.93), China’s Wenxiu Zhang (73.58), Rosa Rodriguez of Venezuela (72.41) and Joanna Fiororow of Poland (71.77). In the previous Olympic Games, Zalina Marghieva finished eighth with the result of 74.06 meters.

Her sister Marina Marghieva-Nichishenko ranked 24th in the qualifying round with 65.19 meters. Sergey Marghiev will compete in hammer throw on August 17.

In weight throw, Dimitriana Surdu scored the result of 15.25 meters and ranked 35th out of 36 competitors. Weightlifter Natalia Prishchepa ranked 12 in the 75kg class with the total result of 213 kg. Jong Sim Rim of North Korea became champion after lifting 274 kg overall.
