The “Summit of Young People of the Republic of Moldova - “Longing for Roots” is a project within which young people will be able to transmit clear messages to the authorities and decision makers involved in the European integration process, said the organizers of the event.
In a news conference hosted by IPN, the head of the National Youth Council of Moldova Teodora Panuș said that this event will ensure connections between young people and the authorities for the first to be later included in the decision-making process. “We want to see the role of young people, especially their role in the European integration process and not only,” stated Teodora Panuș. According to her, it is important to realize how to create economic spaces for young people throughout this process, especially because the Republic of Moldova is still in the process of development.
In the event, experts will endeavor in a more nonconformist way to accumulate comprehensive information from young people so as to make sure that viable priorities for decision makers can be identified among young people. The summit will involve representatives of the central authorities for these to hear and realize young people’s priorities through the European integration and labor perspectives.
Paula Bodlev, assistant coordinator of the Summit of Young People of the Republic of Moldova, said that many young people already announced their participation. “As a result of a call we made at the beginning of August, over 130 participants registered and a rigorous selection was made for 60 persons who will take part in this project,” she stated.
The chairman of the Federation of Young Bessarabians in Romania Cristin Murafa said that the event next year could be much larger, with broader participation, as there are relevant requests and more active involvement on the part of young people is necessary.
