Youth award for science, technology, literature and arts will be conferred on November 10

The Ministry of Youth and Education (MET) will grant the youth award in the fields of science, technology, literature and arts 2006 edition, on November 10. This year, the prize will be awarded to 5 persons in amount of MDL 10 thousand each. Last year, because of the same amount of points gained by two persons, the same prize was given to 6 participants in amount of MDL 6 thousands each. The deadline for application expired on October 9, this year. The number of applications has increased by 7 in comparison to the last year, according to the responsible body from the Department of youth programs of MET, 21 application forms were submitted. The age limit for the applicants is between 16 and 35. Statistics show that due to the bigger amount of monographs, articles and scientific theses, the laureates of this prize were more PHD than Bachelor students. It was discussed the appreciation method of the application forms, during a meeting of MET. It was created a guide which will be followed in the process of giving points according to the article type included in the application. Monographs will be appreciated by 10 points; Articles from the international magazines by 9 points; from Romanian ones by 7 points and local by 5 points; These presented on the international conferences by 3 points, international in Moldova – 2 points, local- 1 point. Patents will be marked with a "+" or "-". The commission for awarding the youth prize in the fields of science, technologies, literature and arts will be constituted of the following persons: Constantin Gaindric, hairman of Supreme Commission of attestation, Victor Tvircun, Minister of Education and Youth, Gheorghe Duca, President of Moldovan Science Academy (MSA) Viorelia Moldovan-Batranac, Vice minister of Education and Youth, Ion Tighineanu, Vice President of MSA, Petru Chetrus, pro-rector of State University of Moldova etc.
