Young Moldovan woman killed in Romanian city of Bacău

A 20-year-old young woman, hailing from the Republic of Moldova, was killed by a neighbor in Bacău, Romania, according to local press reports. The suspect knocked at the woman’s door to ask for a light, and after being refused, he returned and stabbed the victim, according to the investigation.

The woman died shortly after in hospital. The suspect is said to have mental problems. The tragedy was witnessed by the victim’s two younger brothers, nine-year-old twins.

The woman had been living in Romania for several years with her mother. On the day of the murder, she was at home with her two brothers, while her mother and stepfather were away to the countryside.

The suspect had been discharged from a psychiatric hospital three months ago. He was apprehended a short time later and investigations have now begun to find out exactly what happened.
