Two young men aged 21 were caught riding e-scooters while intoxicated. According to the General Police Inspectorate, the two were observed on Moscova Blvd in the capital city while moving unevenly and not properly equipped, IPN reports.
The breathalyzer tests confirmed that they were under the influence of alcohol, with 0.68 mg/l and 0.34 mg/l of alcohol vapor in the exhaled air, which means an advanced degree of intoxication.
The two face fines of up to 12,500 lei or 10 to 15 days of arrest.
Almost 70 road accidents involving e-scooters were reported in Moldova so far this year. As a result of them, 57 people were injured.
