The boat and the two fishing persons were noticed by a mobile patrol of the Cahul Sector Border Police not far from Manta village. The men aged 20 and 21 asked for permission to enter the border area to fish, but hid the tools that are prohibited by law.

The two were taken to the border subdivision. The fishing tools were seized for taking legal action.

The Border Police said the Cahul Inspectorate for Environmental Protection was notified of this case. The Inspectorate estimated the damage caused to the environment at 402,000 lei.
