A young man has been severely injured in a road accident last night while he was crossing Dacia boulevard on the viaduct that links Centru and Botanica districts. According to the inspector of the Traffic Security Service of the Chisinau Traffic Police Ion Roscovanu, the accident has occurred around 10.00pm. The young man aged 19, a second year student of the State University of Moldova, was hit by a BMW-520 car, receiving cerebral injuries, mental shock and coma of II-III degree. On Sunday morning, at the intersection of Alexandru cel Bun and Bulgara streets, a Mercedes car hit an intoxicated young girl aged 26. The girl was taken to the Emergency Hospital with cerebral injures, mental shock and injures to her face. A 53-year-old man, who drove without a driving license, was hospitalized at the rehabilitation section with the same traumas. He lost control of steering and collided with a Chrysler car on Pan Halippa street. The accident occurred around 12.00 pm. An almost similar case has happened on Vadul lui Voda street. A Volkswagen-Passat car, driven by a 30-year-old man, crashed into an Iveco-Magirus car, which ran in turn into a Volkswagen-Golf car. Another accident has occurred around 2.00 am, 300 m from the entrance to Ghidighici village. An intoxicated young man aged 21, driving an Opel-Vectra car, ran into an obstacle. As a result of the impact, the 25-year-old passenger suffered injures. A man aged 45, under the influence of alcohol, was hit by a Nissan-Primera on Gradina Botanica street, while a 77-year-old man was hit by a Mercedes minibus of the route 121 at the intersection of Mesterul Manole and Ginta Latină streets. As many as 18 road accidents that resulted in 15 injured persons have been reported in Chisinau on Sunday. There were initiated 353 proceedings, including 18 intoxicated drivers, and 42 speedings.
