The police seized drugs to the value of about 2 million lei. A young man from Tiraspol, the member of a criminal group, who was distributing drugs through Telegram, was arrested, IPN reports.
According to the Botanica Police Inspectorate, the 22-year-old man traveled to Poland to take a large quantity of narcotic substances, which were to be illegally sold on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. He was caught when entering Moldova through the Cahul-Oancea border crossing point.
When searching the car in which the young man was traveling, the border police officers found 3 kg of mephedrone camouflaged in specially arranged hiding places.
The total value of the drugs is approximately 1,800,000 lei. The young man was arrested for 72 hours and faces 7 to 15 years behind bars.
