A 19-year-old was hospitalized in serious condition in the intensive care unit after his car crashed into an electricity pillar. The accident occurred this morning, October 24, in Cahul municipality.
Cahul Police Inspectorate press officer Cristina Ciobanu told IPN that according to preliminary conclusion, the cause of the accident was the excessive driving speed on a wet road. As a result, the car collided violently with a pillar, being practically torn apart.
In this regard, a criminal case has been initiated.
Update: Asked by IPN, spokesman for Cahul District Hospital, Victoria Braileanu, has said the young man is conscious. He has suffered a concussion, a fractured leg and contusion of several internal organs.
