The police warn the citizens not to respond to dubious messages they receive on the phone and not to provide any personal information. In a press release, quoted by IPN, the General Police Inspectorate said that it registers more and more cases of illegal collection of personal data, which are later used for various purposes.

“If you received a similar message, we urge you not to provide information to criminals. The applicants are scammers, not persons accredited by the National Center for Personal Data Protection,” reads the press release.

Most often, the purpose of the messages is to dispossess people of financial means, using their personal data.

The police urge caution. In case of dubious requests, they recommend to immediately call the emergency number 112.
