The rain with hail and high winds of the evening of June 27 affected dozens of hectares of crops, damaged roofs and left a number of settlements without power, IPN reports.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, in Schineni village of Soroca district, the roofs of 30 houses were damaged by hail. In Rubelnita Noua, the strong winds pulled over 600 slates off roofs. There were also affected 146 hectares of orchards and 285 hectares of crops.
The rain also caused damage in two settlements of Falesti district. Almost 600 hectares of crops were damaged in Pompa and over 700 hectares in Glinjeni.
Owing to the unfavorable weather conditions, 49 settlements from 13 districts were disconnected from the power supply. The electricity in 14 villages from the districts of Leova, Straseni, Calarasi, Glodeni, Donduseni, Briceni, and Rascani was still off this morning.
The local emergencies commissions are to assess the caused damage.
