Motorists are warned to be cautious in traffic. Weather forecasters issued a yellow code warning for fog and ice, covering the whole country, for the morning of January 11, when there will be poor visibility, of 200 m and less, and ice on the roads, IPN reports.
Owing to the ice, a multi-vehicle collision happened near Orhei town last weekend. The accident claimed the lives of a woman and a child.
According to weather forecasts, daytime temperatures this will week will vary between 0 and +5 degrees Celsius, while nighttime temperatures – between -5 and 0 degrees Celsius. There will be sleet on Monday and Tuesday, January 11 and 12.
Towards the end of the week, it will grow colder. The temperatures will decrease to -9 degrees Celsius at night and -7 degrees Celsius during the day. Snow is forecast for January 16.
